It's
a site only for college students, where the students post pics, videos,
articles and whatever is hot right now at their college. It's unique
because students from each college actually run their school's corner
of the collegeweb. UD is the first collegeweb, we plan to branch out.
How do students run it?
Any
student can write, post, and upload stuff. But each college has student
moderators who oversee the different sections of the sites, fix
problems, and do stuff like decide what shows up on the homepage.
Everybody can vote any content up and down, causing it to disappear if
everybody thinks it sucks, or kicking it to the top if everybody likes
it. Users are ranked higher when everybody likes what they post around
the site.
Is it private, or can everybody see us?
Your
profile is absolutely kept private from outside visitors and search
engines, and people can only sign up and see your profile if they have
a .edu email address. You can choose to only let people from your
school see your profile. However, the stuff you post around the site is
viewable by the general public. For that reason, we let you post
anything as "anonymous," meaning nobody will know it was you who posted
it.
