Plain White T’s are back with their latest CD, Big Bad World. The band does an excellent job of recreating the sound that made them famous in the first place. The newest CD follows in the footsteps of their first two albums, All That We Needed and Every Second Counts.
The band most known for "Hey There Delilah" return with Big Band World full of energy, while still capturing love in it’s most elegant form. The CD touches on issues of friendship, hot girls, and getting through hard times, songs that will most likely be very relative to the lives of their fans.
Plain White T's is also pretty popular among the crowd who watches Greek, the ABC Family hit show about students at Cyprus Rhodes University who are in the Greek system. The band is regularly on the show, acting as the band at the parties, and playing their other hit song, “Our Time is Now.”
Big Bad World features several different types of music, ranging from rock to pop to even folk music, which can be heard on the song, "I Really Want You." The track features the lyrics the band is known for and a mix of Bob Dylan harmonica notes and an electric guitar.
"Natural Disaster" is the first single from the album and continues the melodic, catchy tune and lyrics that fans are used to from Plain White T’s. The song is also featured on Greek, where most of the band’s music is heard first for new fans.
Plain White T’s hits the mark with this album. It is not one for those who are fans of harder rock, but this album is a nice light listen. It is great for the demographic who enjoys the lighter sound of rock mixed with pop and folk influences. Big Bad World is a good effort from the boys in the band, and fans will definitely be pleased with the direction the band takes in its latest album.
