Votefortheworst.com remains optimistic, saying “It’s so sad to lose our VFTW king, but we can’t stop bugging the producers, they’d like that too much!”
VFTW has now chosen Phil Stacey as their next untalented contestant to support on American Idol.
Unlike VFTW, many fans will be pleased that Sanjaya has been voted off of American Idol.
In a previous attempt to deter people from voting for Sanjaya, a 23-year-old girl from New York with the surname “J” announced she was going on a hunger strike until Sanjaya left the show.
“J” posted videos on her Myspace page throughout her “Starvation for Sanjaya,” but 16 days later and 17 pounds lighter was forced to give up due to doctor’s orders.
“J” claims her family and friends supported her until the fast became detrimental to her health.
“For the most part, it was a pretty positive reaction. They were glad that I took a stand for something I believed in” she said.
In opposition to “J,” Sanjaya fan Kevin Johnson claims he will binge eat until Sanjaya wins the competition. Johnson’s “Stuffing for Sanjaya” videos have been posted on YouTube.
Another website, votesanjayaoff.com, encouraged people to sign an online petition to get rid of Sanjaya.
“I can’t stand fake people or people with no real talent getting ahead in this world when people who really have talent are getting pushed aside for a better ‘story’” said Justice Sheima, host of Chio in the Morning Show, in a letter to American Idol fans.
Sheima had vowed to live in a tent on the top of a building until Sanjaya was voted off. Before this week’s elimination, the website had over 16,000 votes despite the fact that it had to restart the petition on March 29 due to “obscene content.”
“America is sending the wrong message to our children: ‘Let’s vote for him because he is a cute, sweet kid, and we feel sorry for him” said Sheima, the website’s spokesperson. continue >>
