So, I was browsing through the Review today and found a pretty crazy article. I didn\'t even think it was real at first. But apparently, Wilmington Councilman Mike Brown proposed an ordinance on November 8th that would ban saggy pants, which expose the wearer\'s underwear. Violators could face fines up to $250.
Am I the only one who thinks this is rediculous? I mean, I definitely don\'t like seeing peoples underwear while walking down the street, but that doesn\'t mean it should be ilegal! How can you just infringe on someones rights like that?
Brown thinks that his own rights are being ignored. He says, \"What about my rights? What about the rights of my family? When I go on the street, what happens to our rights to not want to see your buttocks, your boxers, your thongs all hanging out? We have rights not to be subjected to it.\"
Well, you know what Mr. Brown? Fuck you. You\'re an idiot.
huh... they're fining you for wardrobe now? that's a big surprise.
it's like being in grade school / high school, with a freaking uniform and a dress code. though it might be kinda hot if everyone under 25 had to wear a cute uniform, like in japanese anime...
then again, maybe not... i'm flashing images of chubby con-goers in mini-skirts, with bounteous gut spilling over the waist-line...
I'm not a huge fan of people walking around with saggy ass pants, but banning them and imposing a fine is just going to piss people off. If anything, people are going to start being defiant about it.
